Chinese zodiac signs
The Chinese zodiac runs on a twelve-year cycle, and the year you were born gives you an animal sign with its own personality, luck, and compatibility. 2026 is the Year of the Horse 🐎. Find your sign below and read what it says about you.
How the Chinese zodiac works
Each year in the Chinese calendar is linked to one of twelve animals, repeating in a fixed order: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. Legend says the order comes from the Great Race, when the animals raced across a river at the Jade Emperor's call and the clever Rat crossed the finish line first.
Your sign is set by your birth year, though the Chinese New Year falls in late January or February, so if you were born in January or early February, check the exact date for your year. Alongside the animal, each sign carries a fixed element, lucky numbers and colors, and a group of signs it tends to get along with best.
